Nervous System Dysregulation

Years ago, my great aunts would have said, “Her nerves are bad.”

* Constant worry or anxiety (even when nothing is obviously wrong)

* Feeling on edge or easily overwhelmed

* Flight: restlessness, always busy, can’t relax

* Fawn: people-pleasing, avoiding conflict, putting others first

It’s your nervous system trying to protect you. It just hasn’t learned how to turn off properly yet. It’s like it’s always ready to choose how to react to a tiger. Living on high alert with that overreaction every day is really hard.
