Manifesting the Life You Love

One of the most amazing examples of Creating Your Future® that I have experienced happened at a Honeymoon Suite concert in my hometown. I was there with some friends, front row, enjoying the music, and having a great time. At one point, we were talking about being on stage with the band, and one of the guys with me said that he used to get drunk, and just go on stage. I said out loud, “I can get on stage without drinking.”
I had no plan to get on stage. Nobody else had been on stage except the band. I had no backstage pass. I wasn’t drawing attention to myself. I had no idea or expectation that it could even happen. I simply said it because I believed I could do it, while at the same time, I was living my best life, in the present moment, thriving at a concert.
Maybe 30 seconds later, the lead singer invited me up on stage. Someone came to get me, and suddenly I was in front of about 2,000 people in my hometown. I sang and danced beside the lead singer, sharing his microphone, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
The song we sang was “Stay in the Light.” What an absolutely perfect song for that moment.
That experience has stayed with me because it was such a wonderful example of how quickly an idea can move from your mind into your experience. I have had other experiences like this throughout my life, which is one of the reasons I became so interested in the whole subject of Creating Your Future® and manifesting what you want.
There are many different teachings around this. I have learned from Abraham Hicks, Neville Goddard, Bashar, and others who teach about imagination, vibration, belief, and the Law of Attraction. I have also found interesting connections with spiritual teachings about faith and the power of our thoughts.
There are also some beautiful ideas in the Bible that have made me think about the connection between our thoughts, beliefs, faith, and the future we hope to create. Proverbs says, “For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.” Hebrews speaks of faith as “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.” And in Mark, Jesus speaks about believing that we receive the things we desire when we pray.
Vision boards and vision books are fun because they give you a way to collect pictures and words that represent what you would love to experience. Goal work helps turn those dreams into something you can actually work toward, and visualization gives you a chance to imagine yourself living the future you want.
Time Line Therapy™ is an effective tool in future work. We can create a picture of where you want to go and connect with the person you are becoming. By this point in our work together, we have usually already spent time clearing emotional baggage and changing limiting beliefs, so there is more room to think about what you want to create.
I have always loved this part of the work because it gives people something exciting to look forward to. We can explore the dreams they may have put away for years, decide what they really want, create goals, and use different techniques to help bring those dreams into focus.
I can’t read the future. Life has a way of surprising us. What I do know is that giving yourself permission to imagine a future you would love can open up a whole new way of looking at your life. And sometimes, something you imagine can happen in a way that leaves you standing on a stage in front of 2,000 people, sharing a microphone with the lead singer of Honeymoon Suite. Lol.
